Touched by an Angel - Reasonable Doubt (Part 1 of 5)
Original Air Date: December 3, 2000 Monica is called to a jury in a murder case in which the defendant could receive the death penalty. The defendant, Brendan Falstaff, is on trial for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Bennet. The prosecution claims that Brendan Falstaff set fire to the house of Elizabeth, while she slept. The defense, however, argues that his case be built only on hearsay and circumstantial evidence. After hearing both sides present their case, the juryis conducted in the room thought to come to a verdict. Carol Anne is selected as foreperson and covers the votes, but Monica keeps the process by requiring the other to discuss the decision. Most of the jurors agree that the evidence supports the search for Brendan Falstaff guilty - a knowledge-based investigator that the fire was the result of arson, that a gas was found in the trunk Brendan Falstaff and Mr. Gundlach , the neighbor across the street identifiedBrendan car leaving the scene of the crime. Monica raises some doubts about the ability of the mark Mr. Gundlach, when he could not identify to identify the make of car. One of the jurors is unable to explain to the satisfaction of other jurors, but Monica does not believe in guilt by Brendan. Outside the courtroom, Tess heard two officers on the case.
